Queens of the Stone Age Reign Over Fiddler’s Green

Queens of the Stone Age kicked of their set at Fiddler’s Green with the hit that everyone knows- “No One Knows,” indomitable front man Josh Homme exclaiming to the electrified crowd that it was going to be a great night. As the pumped up Denver audience got to experience one of the first real tastes of autumnal weather, they got an equally refreshing dose of world-class rock n’ roll. Opening for QOTSA was Viagra Boys, who provided a supremely danceable set of their addictive, wacky rock songs. The contrast between the sets provided something for everyone in the audience: push ups and gym class jokes from Viagra Boys, and the powerful charisma and composure of Queens of the Stone Age. Like an Elvis sandwich, these two bands are the ingredients we never knew we needed together. -Molly McGrath for Audiovore
